Páidí Ó Sé : ウィキペディア英語版
Páidí Ó Sé

Páidí Ó Sé (; ; 16 May 1955 – 15 December 2012) was an Irish Gaelic footballer and manager who played as a right half-back for Kerry. With eight All-Irelands to his name as a player and two All-Irelands as a manager, in the 1970s, 1980s, 1990s and 2000s, he was one of the most decorated names in the sport and was one of the most recognisable faces in the country. He was one of five men to win eight All-Ireland football medals (the other four were on the same team), and one of two men to win multiple All Irelands as a player and a manager.
Ó Sé made his first senior appearance for Kerry during the 1990-91 National League and was a regular member of the starting fifteen until his retirement after the 1987 Championship. During that time he won eight All-Ireland medals, eleven Munster medals, four National League medals and five All Stars Awards. Ó Sé captained Kerry to the 1985 All-Ireland title. At club level he was a two-time County Senior Championship medalist with divisional side West Kerry, and also played with an Ghaeltacht.
Ó Sé was heavily involved in team management and coaching. Having begun as player-manager of West Kerry, he would later guide Kerry to two All-Ireland titles in 1997 and 2000. He also managed Westmeath and Clare, leading the former in notable circumstances to the 2004 Leinster Senior Football Championship Final, which they then won. He was managing the West Kerry divisional side as recently as 2010. Before his sudden death in 2012, he was involved in tours with The Gathering Ireland 2013.
Ó Sé's nephews, Darragh, Tomás and Marc Ó Sé, have all played for Kerry.
==Early and personal life==
Páidi Ó Sé was born in the heart of the Gaeltacht in Ceann Trá, County Kerry in 1955. He was the second of three boys, with an older brother Mícheál and younger brother Tom.〔http://kerrygaa.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=general&action=display&thread=4692&page=2〕 A native Irish speaker, he was educated locally at Cill Mhic a' Domhnaigh National School. He later attended Dingle CBS, St. Brendan's College in Killarney (from which he was expelled), before completing his Leaving Certificate (which he failed) at St. Michael's College in Listowel.〔 While receiving his secondary school education, Ó Sé's interest in Gaelic football was nurtured. During his secondary schooling, he won four consecutive Kerry senior colleges' titles from 1971 until 1974. Ó Sé won back-to-back Corn Uí Mhuirí titles in 1972 and 1973 with St. Brendan's, before adding a Munster 'B' colleges' title to his collection in 1974 with St. Michael's. He subsequently trained to be a Garda Síochána and was based in Limerick for four years.〔 He also played rugby for Young Munster for one year.〔
Ó Sé married his wife Máire, a schoolteacher, in 1984 and together they had three children - Neasa, Siún and Pádraig Óg. Ó Sé has three nephews that have also played for Kerry; Darragh, Tomás and Marc Ó Sé. All three have been selected for All Stars Awards teams and have had much success in recent years.
